Plus Size Brassiere Basics part II

Plus Size Brassiere Basics part II

Hey Beauties!!

If you are anything like me, you have had more than your share of uncomfortable, ill-fitting, boring, unfashionable undergarments. I thought I’d save you some additional heartache (and pocket-ache) by sharing my experience with the following companies: Third Love, Lane Bryant, and Jessica London.

Third Love - established in 2013; founded by women

Pros-

  • 60 day guarantee- “wear it, wash it…if you don’t like it return it”

  • fit finder based on breast shape and size, not templates

  • band sizes range from 30-48; cup sizes range from A-I

  • for each of their bras there provide a recommendation of what type of breast is best suited for that style of bra

  • buy more, get more- discounts based upon total amount of purchase

  • several “nude-ish” colors

  • modest but still sexy styles

Cons-

  • average price: $68

  • product reviews indicate that there may be issues returning merchandise

Lane Bryant - Cacique (lingerie arm of the company) established in 1967; founded by a woman

  • every style doesn’t come in every size

  • the underwire is usually the first thing to go

  • some of the styles can not be easily worn under clothing due to embellishments

Jessica London- parent company founded in 1901; sister company to “Swimsuits for all” has partnered with GabiFresh on a sexy line of swimsuits

Pros-

  • styles are designed for a more modest woman

  • average price: $40

  • band sizes range from 38-54; cup sizes range from A-G

    • Level of Lift categorization ranging from 1-4 (Easy Fit to Maximum Support)

  • most styles come in wider straps providing more comfortable wearing experience

  • frequently have sales (right now up to 63% off)

Cons-

  • Basic styles lack imagination

We have a lot of options to choose from. But I have listed is what is important to me. Next time we talk about bra’s we’ll get into how to care for them and make them last as long as possible. After all you spend so much time in them. Lets treat them like royalty…

Happy Dressing!!
