Skirts for My Curves

Skirts for My Curves

There are three kinds of skirts I am drawn to: circle skirts, pleated skirts, and pencil skirts.

Circle skirts are wide swing skirts that fall at or just below the knees.   They usually come in solid colors.  Back in the day they were called poodle skirts and had some sort of appliqué (poodle, bird, etc).  A more modern version can be found with color blocks, colors or prints.

Pleated skirts contain a type of fold formed by doubling back upon itself and securing it in place. Typical pleated skirts can be long or short with small or large pleats.  For my body type, a skirt that falls below the knees suits me best.  The more Curvy you are, the smaller the pleat should be so that they do not appear to sit on top of your body.

Pencil Skirts are ones that are slim-fitting with a straight, narrow cut. Generally the hem falls to, or is just below, the knee and is tailored for a close fit. It is named for its shape: long and slim. You can pair this skirt with almost anything.  The pencil skirt is the most versatile of them all.

What kind of skirt are you living in?  How does it make you feel?  What style of skirt makes you feel confident and sexy?

After all, if it doesn’t make you feel confident and sexy, why are you wearing it?
